Dear Mr. Darby,
With reference to your letter of the 14th September, 1948, concerning the replacement of an artificial limb for Mr. C. H. Yong, surgical and medical appliances are provided free of charge under the National Health Service Act to persons resident in the United Kingdom.
It is hoped that the enclosed copy of N.H.S. Notes 6 and 11 will help to make the position clear.
